Marlene's background includes graduating from Tulane University (B.F.A. with Honors) and CCAC (M.F.A.), as well as attending Pilchuck Glass School and other glass focused institutions. Her cast glass sculptures mostly reflect representations of Buddhas, abstract African subjects, Bells, Butterflies and Installations.
Her work imagines energy & fire joining glass in a timeless ritual of time and dust. They include fragments of what she has experienced - visions and concepts, memories of life, products of dreams - that shape themselves within the flame. Every piece she creates has an ancient memory that instills in its essence a more ethereal presence than just its physical form.
Marlene has had a wide range of exhibitions and is well represented with Galleries and Collections.
