GANM’s goal is to welcome visitors to New Mexico and encourage them to visit galleries, studios including hot shops and teaching facilities, and online websites of artists.

NOTE: You must be a Glass Alliance member to be considered for Sunport participation. If you're not a member and are interested in applying, membership application information is here.

About the Venue

The selected works will be displayed in three 12x6 foot x 22 inch deep cases at the terminal entrance from the parking garage.

“The Albuquerque International Sunport is one of the country’s most culturally unique airports because of its New Mexican architecture and extensive art collection. Artwork in the permanent collection can be found throughout the main terminal building, outside the Ticketing Level entrance, along Sunport Boulevard, at the Rental Car Center (on University SE south of Sunport), and at the historic Old Terminal Building. The Sunport’s temporary exhibits have gained international recognition and included collaborations with local artists, community organizations and museums.”

Eligibility

There is no fee to apply, but you must be a member of Glass Alliance-New Mexico. Eligibility for our public shows is a member benefit. The Sunport exhibit is open to artists who are New Mexico residents or who show in a local gallery.

Artists submitting glass art for consideration must be the original creator of the work. Work must be original art, not copied from published photos or works by other artists. Work submitted must be available for the duration of the exhibit.

Galleries are encouraged to submit and consider sponsorship.

Works should not be wet and should be display-ready.

Art work submitted should be appropriate for a public venue with viewers of all ages.

Promotion

Works in this exhibit will be featured on the GANM website, newsletter blasts, brochures, and other media. Press releases will be sent to local media.

Photos submitted should be high quality. Photos may be used for promotional purposes, including social media. The Sunport may feature the exhibit on their website and social media accounts.

Legal

By submitting images of your work, you agree to allow GANM to use those images to promote this exhibit. We may utilize images and text you provide for promotional purposes directly related to the show. Wherever possible, we will use our best efforts to ensure that your work is accurately represented and credited. If accepted into this exhibit, you agree that GANM may promote your submitted work.

Your work is being loaned to the Albuquerque Sunport and will be covered for loss or damage under their comprehensive arts insurance policy. You are loaning the work for display from November 1-December 31 (plus a few days on each side of those dates for transportation, setup, and takedown, if needed).

Size/Packing/Delivery/Setup and Take Down

Your submitted works for this show must fit within the size limitations of the display area. The depth of the cases is 22 inches. Your work needs to fit on a pedestal or be ready to hang if it is a light wall work.

You will need to carefully wrap, box, and seal the selected work. Delivery instructions will be provided upon acceptance. The box should be clearly marked on the outside with your name, contact information, and a photo of the enclosed work. Works that require multiple boxes should be labeled accordingly. This will assist us at setup. Plan to transport your glass art to the Sunport on setup day, or make arrangements with other members.

On the exit day, each artist will be responsible for coming to the Sunport, re-packing and transporting his/her own work, or making arrangements to have someone else do so. The available delivery and take down dates/times will be communicated upon acceptance into the show. We welcome volunteers for setup and take down.
